Synthesizers Designed for: GPS Reference Cleanup, VSAT Radio Receivers, Femtocell Test Boxes
PLXO Series: Phase-Locked Crystal Oscillator used for GPS Reference Cleanup
The PLXO-10 Phase-Locked Crystal Oscillator from EM Research operates at 10 MHz as a holdover Stratum 3 frequency reference in a clock system, phase-locked to an external GPS signal. The unit is equipped with a reference-detect switch that, in <20 mSec, engages an internal reference upon external signal loss. The PLXO-10 features a tuning range of ±15 ppm, holdover stability of <1.0 ppm / first year @ +40°C, and extremely low phase noise (<-125 dBc/Hz @ 1 KHz typical). The PLXO-10 is housed in a connectorized package (1.5” x 1.5” x 0.6”).
Applications: The PLXO Series is ideal for use as a precision clock conditioner in target clock and timing applications including: data converter clocking, SONET/SDH, wireless infrastructure, test and measurement, GPS and military / aerospace applications.
THOR Series: Frequency Synthesizer Designed for VSAT Radio Receiver
The THOR-14000 frequency synthesizer from EM Research is used as a Local Oscillator for a VSAT Radio Receiver. The unit operates from 13800 to 14000 MHz with 1MHz step size utilizing a 10 MHz reference. The THOR-14000 features fast switching speeds (<500 mSec), +7 dBm output power, and low phase noise (<-85 dBc/Hz @100 KHz typical). The THOR is housed in a connectorized (optional hermetically sealed), 2.5” x 1.1” x 0.4” (63.5mm x 33mm x 10.2mm) package and features two removable SMA connectors which can be gull-winged for SMT applications.
Applications: The THOR Series, Ku / K-Band frequency synthesizers are ideal for Manpack Radios, UAV, EW, IED Jamming and other mobile applications requiring a high frequency, lightweight design with low power consumption.
ESP Series: Phase-Locked DRO Replacement used in Femtocell Test Equipment
The ESP-100 and ESP-200 from EM Research were designed as local oscillators in high level mixers designed to test picocell and femtocell base stations. The ESP-100 and ESP-200 operate fixed at 100 MHz and 200 MHz, respectively, and feature extremely low phase noise, (<-130 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz, typical). The ESP Series is available with output powers up to +14 dBm, external or internal frequency references, in a small connectorized package, 2.25” x 2.25” x 0.6” (57.2mm x 57.2mm x 15.2mm).
